Jamestown is tied for first place with Blacksburg. The rest of the top 10 is deleted because it is part of Virginia Preps' premium subscription service area. -- Lynn Burke

I have one, but the fellow who runs Va Preps asked that premium content not be posted elsewhere and I'll honor that.

Is VaPreps the de facto ratings organization? Does the VHSL publish anything? It's kinda of odd you would have to pay to get a complete list and then your obligated to keep it a secret...

The VHSL does not compile any rankings in any sport other than football. To my knowledge, there is no statewide soccer coaches poll or anything like that. I'm not sure who does the ratings for Virginia Preps or how much they know on a statewide level, etc. But if the guys who run that website choose to put it on a subscription-only part of their website, then I'll honor their request not to republish it here.

VaPreps does an excellent job with their state rankings in all sports. They involve people who are well informed about the sport, and the teams around the state. Their rankings are almost always more predictive than the AP. In Girl's Basketball, their first AA ranking in December correctly predicted the state field for March.
VaPreps is generally regarded as the best state high school site in the Rivals network. Their coverage of sports other than football and basketball goes way beyond any of the other state sites. Their football recruiting coverage has become expansive, and year-round.
