Happened across this site the other nite and decided to throw my 2 cents in as well. Hope no one minds. Have found the site very intertaining and with some interesting info. Will do my best not to be to pro New Kent but of course since my son plays there that could be a little hard at times.

Without turning this into a New Kent blog I can tell you that the team is anxios for the season to start. They have been in the weight room since November and many of the wrestling/fooball players skipped wrestling last year to concentrate on football. We did lose several starters to graduation and will miss our big man Jimmy, ( off to VMI) but do have a little bit of size and speed coming up from JV that should help fill some holes and several of the boys have some really good potential. This has been build as a re building year but I think many people will be surpized at the level of play these kids will put out and from what I hear the coaches have a few surprizes this year as well.

Hope all have a good season and Thank God it i only about 14 weeks before it starts.

Hey New Kent Dad,

Thanks for the info on the Trojans. Do you know if Jimmy is playing football and/or wrestling at VMI?

To tell the truth I am not sure. My son is pretty sure he went for football. His brother plays there and I know he looked at JMU for football but guess he prefered to be with family. Guess his brother was a better recruiter than the guys at JMU.

No. Jimmy played DT and OT. 6-4, 285, I don't know for sure but I assumed he recieved a scholorship. I know he had a couple of offers so for him to go to VMI with out one wouldn't make a lot of sence although like I said his brother is already thier so its possible that he is walking on, just not sure. My son says that everyone assumed he got a scholorship as his brother was down during track season and I guess he had some folks from VMI with him. So if I had to guess I would say yea, he got one.
