I have a question for everyone, why is it that everyone seems to strongly dislike Gloucester? [Penn. District teams]. Only a few don't hate them, that would be Phoebus and Warwick.


I WANT TO SAY CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE LADY DUKES.. YOU PLAYED WELL AND WORKED HARD FOR YOUR SPOT.

Warwick and Woodside- You two both put up a big fight in the district tournament, you guys played well.. put your heart into it. Congratulations Warwick for coming in 2nd.

No, I am not trying to get everyone to hate us, it just shows. I think it's because we are not in a Newport News, Hampton, ect. district.. we are alone, noone to back us up.. so therefore everyone hates us. And I just don't understand!?

Sad to say, but it seems everyone hates a winner. Being on the southside, I'm not familiar with Gloucester but I did see them play in the regionals a few years ago at PA high school. They were a good team and well coached. I am familiar with Warwick having seen them play this year in preseason and if Gloucester beat them then I can say that Gloucester is still a good team. Congrats on your season and good luck in the play-offs.

l LAFAYETTE DOESN'T HATE YOU. I WOULD SAY OVER THE PAST FOUR YEARS , WE HAVE PLAYED YOU TWICE A YEAR. ALL THE GAMES HAVE BEEN VERY COMPETITIVE AND WELL PITCHED AND PLAYED ON BOTH SIDES. MY DAUGHTER HAS BEEN SHOWN NOTHING BUT RESPECT FROM THE COACH AND THE TEAM. :nod:

Ha, yes.. that is true, everyone does hate a winner. But, three years ago.. they didn't always win like this, yet, they still hate them!? Doesn't make sense to me. But, I guess it really doesn't matter to me as much. I was just trying to figure out why so many people hated them. They are playing at PA again Memorial Day, I hope they go far, I want to see them go to States! They are an awesome team and they deserve it.



Lafayette is a good team as well, as far as I know there hasn't been problems between Lafayette and Gloucester. They are both respected. Coaches, pitching, hitting, defense, all awesome, I've seen myself!! Tough games too!! I believe Gloucester even lost to Lafayette one game out of three??

Softball14 you are paranoid, not everyone out there "hates" the Dukes. Also, there are a lot of girls not only in the BRD but in the PD with lots of class. Statements like you just made are incorrect and show either your youth or ignorance, I'm not sure which or maybe it is both.

I think Gloucester is a great team. :high5: I just want our girls to play em'......Would do wonders for our level of play... Good luck ladies.

No one in the pd dislikes Gloucester. Matter of fact in the PD almost all of the coaches have great respect for one another as do the players. Alot of this sort of stuff is generated by the famous "John Q. Public".
This stuff always follows teams who get on runs. It happened to Woodside, it happened to Bethel, it happened to Kecoughtan, Poquoson. The list could go on and on.
Best of luck to both PD teams in Regional play. Well coached and well equiped to win this year. The Eastern region really has no dominate team this year as it has it the past 10. Should be good.:boink:
