Hampton, Poquoson, Granby, Stafford Quad

Saturday, Jan 2 at noon is the starting time for this quad which should be a great tune-up for next week's Virginia Duals. Don't know much about Stafford, but anxiously awaiting the Hampton-Poquoson match-up, which should provide a lights out match at 103 between Chauncey Foster (H) and Thomas Payne (P). Should be a fun afternoon, hope to see lots of folks in the stands at Poquoson.

The Payne-Foster match was great with Payne winning 11-7, but could just have easily gone the other way. Neither wrestler backed down and both were on the offensive in six minutes of pretty much non-stop action. Thanks for the show guys, and best of luck to both fine wrestlers. Barring injury, both should make tons of noise at their respective state championships.

There were several other good matches during the day, which weren't seen as the crowd was one of the most pathetic I've seen at Poquoson over the years. Truly expected a packed house. May have been the holidays, but expected much more in terms of community support.
