We are expanding our coverage on HRVarsity, adding blogs for each of the high schools in our coverage area.
We are looking for someone to be the blogger for each school in the Peninsula and Bay Rivers districts and the private schools in the area.
You won't be blogging for free. You'll be able to make some money ... not enough to quit your day job ... but some money, nonetheless.
What are we looking for in a blogger?
* - You don't have to be a polished writer, but you should be able to write complete sentences.
* - You're willing to write about all sports at your school, not the major sports
* - You're willing to update the blog regularly in order to keep people coming back to it.
We will help you get started and help you along the way. We'll provide ideas and tips for content, and you can exchange information with our network of bloggers.
As for content, we want the blog to be a one-stop place for information for your school. Your original content will be important, and you can get information from others at the school ... coaches, administrators, etc. You're also free to link to stories in other media ... Daily Press, Virginia Gazette, Virginian-Pilot, Gloucester-Mathews Gazette, etc. We'll show you how to link and what to do to make sure there is no plagiarism involved.
You must be willing to blog using your real name and with your photograph on the blog. While message boards allow people to use internet nicknames, you'll be a point of contact for your school, so you need to be visible.
Thanks ... Lynn Burke
