Here are a couple of Eastern Region factoids, which you might or might not know (and/or care about):
**Since Woodside's 2001 state championship, the Peninsula District is 4-10 in Eastern Region play. Seven of those losses came to Beach District teams.
**The PD is 2-0 vs. the Eastern District in that span. In 2004, Kecoughtan beat Churchland and Woodside beat Granby.
**A team from the Eastern Region has won six of the last nine state championships.

2005 - Kempsville
2003 - Princess Anne
2001 - Woodside
1998-2000 - Great Bridge
You need to go all the way back to 1978 to find the next state winner - Bayside

All said - Not a bad showing for the Eastern Region in the last ten years.
