As a Tabb lineman I would just like to apologize to all of the Tabb fans and to anyone that was at the game tonight. We did not play as well as we should have and this is our third loss to York in a row.

But most importantly I would like to say sorry for the fight on the field. Its disgraceful to not only Tabb, but to York as well. High School football is aggressive and physical, but a fight like that is just a disgrace to the sport, to the teams, and to the school.

Im sure a lot of York and Tabb fans will post about how each team started it and how dirty each team plays and in general just add fuel to the fire. But I give a shout out to York's team. Good game.

That is classy Tabb Lineman. Way to take responsibility, you are a great example to the BRD players and parents.

In the heat of battle, tempers flair and the definition of acceptable behavior often gets blurred. This is one of THE toughest things student athletes (& pro athletes, for that matter) often struggle with as they compete at a high level. (look at Marcus Vick ala the Stomp vs Louisville, Venus Wms w/ the USOpen Verbal Threat and well,... the Oregon Duck RB from last season) As a Tiger Fan and Family Member of one of your team mates, I was utterly shocked and disgusted by the melee that broke out in the 3rd Qtr. It took real guts for you to express GENUINE remorse for your part in the actions of what now will be remembered as the 'infamous brawl' of York-Tabb 2010. And for standing up and accepting accountability for your reprehensible actions on behalf of your Family, Team Members, Students and Administrators @TABB and supporters of your program in the Community, you are to be admirably (but conservatively) commended.

Now serve your two-game suspension with contrition and Tiger-Pride and play with Sportsmanship and controlled aggression for the remainder of your career. What a life-long lesson this event will turn out to be for you as you progress thru your journey. Hopefully, others will be able to learn from your mistakes and future accomplishments.

You are assuming this particular Tabb lineman was guilty of fighting. I'd just like to point out that not all the Tabb players (and I'm sure not all the York players either) fought. A player can apologize for his team's lackluster performance and for his teams embarrassing behavior without having been personally guilty of suspension worthy behavior. Let's withhold judgement on individual players, even if they are anonymous. I know a LOT of the players are expressing remorse for the whole episode, many who didn't even do anything wrong.

Let's just hope that the schools (both of them) and the VHSL handle this whole episode appropriately.

Its irritating that you assume that I was involved in the fight and that I will be suspended for two games. It also seems that you assume that I do not play with Sportsmanship. I always have, and I always will play cleanly and fairly. I was not involved in the melee, and not to toot my own horn, but once we started playing again, I even shook a few York player's hands and stated "Lets play fair".

Everyone will analyze my apology and see it as something fake or something to cover up what happened. I am honestly sorry to the fans that attended the game.

I think XMVhokie now owes Tiger_Line an apology for being so assuming.

I am sure tiger_line is embarrassed by his team's actions last night. He apologized on behalf of his teams actions. The young men who did fight may
want to follow suit.

is it really?

...and we all know what happens when you assume.

With this statement, I would personally like to commend you for taking a stand on behalf of your team and wish you the best in your football career.
With that said, I feel VHSL should evaluate the video, and I honestly feel that there is at least 1 player that needs to be removed from the team.

Tiger_Line.. I erroneously 'assumed' you were involved with the fight and for that I Apologize for the Mistake. Along those same lines, I certainly did not intend to imply that you did not play with Sportsmanship but meant to wish you well in dedicating the rest of your season and sports career w/ a spirit of continued and renewed sportsmanship. Nobody is immune from the rush of emotions that come w/ intense competition. And that move you made to shake hands w/ your combatants as play resumed was a CLASS ACT and really showed all those in attendance something special in your character. Likewise, the York team members who reciprocated those handshakes are to be commended, as well.

Again, sorry for assuming your role in the whole event and keep up the good work Tiger_Line! Looking forward to seeing you and your team mates perform the rest of the season. Go get'em Tiger!

I would like to see the York coach who ranted and taunted the Tabb fans at midfield show this much class and take ownership of his actions the way this teen ager did.

Who can be removed? A lot of Tabb players were involved. To single out a single person is wrong. Take all 6 of the players involved off the team then. Do not single one person out. Both teams were involved, and after it all stopped, the game continued fairly and clean.

Sorry, just one man's opinion...but I do feel one person can be removed....when they are 30 yards away on the bench and make an extra effort to get into the middle of the fight, and end up being the biggest problem on the field. His entering the field of play made a bad situation a whole lot worse and he wasn't even in the game at the time.

With that said, I also feel Tabb was wronged by having three ejections (1 overturned) and York had no ejections. I saw players from both teams swinging and throwing punches.

Maybe each team played Kenny Chesney new song Boys of Fall and took this verse to heart "You mess with one man you got us all" The boys of fall
