I was wondering if anyone knew how the seeding for regionals works? I understand there is some sort of power poll, but what is the exact formula? Thanks!

You get a certain amount of points for finishing 1-thru-4 places in the regular season and in the district tournament. Teams finishing 5th or lower in the regular season and district tournaments get the same amount of points.

So, basically, it helps to finish in the top four of either or both the regular season and district tournament, because you get more points.

After that, you take the total points for each of the teams in each district (Bay Rivers, Southside and Battlefield) and pick the eight teams with the highest number of points in Division 3 and Division 4.

In all 16 of the of the 26 teams in Region I will get into either the Division 3 or Division 4 tournament.

I'll write more about this, as we approach the tournaments. It's far too early and jumbled to start figuring out who all but the top teams that are likely to get in.

Do you happen to know the number of points for each one through four/ the number for lower placements?
