Do you know if there was a honorable mention for the Region 1 softball team and the Eastern Region softball team? If it`s available could you please post.t I do notice that there are a couple of second team players in their perspective districts that are on this all region list. Correct me if I`m wrong but I thought a player could not be nominated if they were not a first team player from their district. If anyone knows that answer could you please respond. This should answer alot of questions for next year selections. Peninsula Fan previous on another
thread did a great job explaining the selection process that`s why I`m not sure about the all district second team players.Great persuasion by the attending coaches
at the regional meeting.Still no explanation of the At Large position but Utility Player does sound better.Great job ladies.

There are no honorable mentions. If I understand the process correctly, and that's always a **** shoot, you cannot be nominated for first team all-region unless you made first-team all-district.
As for the at-large definition, we're still trying to find out exactly what that means. Our best guess is "utility," which half the time is designated not toward players who play multi-positions but those who they somehow want to get on the team but can't find a spot for otherwise.
