Coates, who went 21-3 with a 0.75 earned-run average, was one of two pitchers to make the first team. Kendra Knight, who led Salem of Virginia Beach to the state quarterfinals, was the other.
Saulman batted .347 as the Dukes’ No. 3 hitter.
Making the second team from the Peninsula District were catcher Gaby Gonzalez of Bethel, infielder Kristie Hoeffer of Woodside, outfielders Va King of Warwick and Brenna Thomas of Gloucester, and pitcher-second basemen Travonna Byrd and Sarah Atkins of Warwick. Atkins and Byrd made the team as at-large picks.
