COUGARS
10-26-2011, 10:00 PM
Hello all, I appologize for being away and not posting some about the Battlefield. I will start with my beloved Cougars, this is a very banged up and injury riddled team heading into the last two games. The season started with several starters sidelined, with as many as 7 out, the sideline looked like a mash unit for the first 6 games, then the other night just before the JM game we lost the heart of our defense, 6'2 255 lbs all everything lineman who went both ways, Chris Kernisky to a season ending emergency apendix operation, this year has been nothing but injury after injury, but the team continues to move forward with a very young team, the other night, at one time during the JM game we had 7 sophs on the field playing defense, bodes well for the future!! Courtland will win the final two games and limp into the playoffs as a very dangerous but wounded team, and depending on how many starters are able to get back will make or break how they fare in the playoffs?

JM is just flat out fast, Courtland hung with them for awhile and stopped them cold on many drives, but JM would spring a big play for a TD, with our best defensive player sidelined before the game, and so many youngsters playing, especially on defense, the out come was ineveitable. A fully healthy Courtland squad, they probably win or it goes down to the wire, JM is going to have to face someone with a great defense and equal speed to knock them off this year.

Kinggeorge is a scary team that plays great one weak and then lays an egg the following week, if they make it in, I would not want to face them, pretty good defense, and all kinds of possibilities on offense, just need to put it all together.

Easternview is a two person team, QB and WR. They have no defensive or offensive line at all, pressure the QB,and run the ball at will agianst them and you win.

Chancellor is very dangerous, they have implemented a whole new offensive scheme this year, which is finally starting to come together, very good and aggressive defense, that can be pushed around by a bigger team, Courtland had thier way with them, but Chancellor helped out along the way with some bonehead mistakes, but good teams make you pay!

Overall it has been a good year in the Battlefield, I beliveve with the exception of JM and Courtland minus all the injuries, the Battlefield is a little down this year, but looking to have a strong comeback in 2012, with JM , Courtland, Chancellor, and possibly Kinggeorge having very good teams next year, with Courtland and JM leading the pack agian. Good luck in the expanded playoffs to all, I like the 6 team format. take care, will report back soon.
