The Galaxy 18U took Third in the NSA State tournament this weekend in Allandale, VA. Beating the Baseliners, Va. Crusher and Rennagades on Saturday and losing to the Bluejays and Rennagades on Sunday.
It was a strong field and the girls did well.
Anyone know how the 18u Legends Gold and Legends A Team made out this past weekend.
Don't know which team is in Boulder Colorado (my guess is 18U Gold), but so far in Pool Play, they are 2-2. They play again on Friday, jun 29 vs Arizona Desert Thunder. Bracket play starts on Saturday, June 30.
Also, Anush Mooradian (New Kent HS) was selected to participate in an All-Star game at Boulder, CO prior to start of tournament. Congratulations!

I hear alot of area girls are in Boulder. The N.J. team that Stephaine Coats is playing with looks like is in a different tournament. She is playing in a Louisville tounament in Boulder.
In the Boulder tourament it looks as if Anush with the Va. Legends along with Becca Mills and Laura Bauer who I believe plays for The Richmond Diamonds are playing in the Boulder tournament. I do not know the difference in the 2. Does anyone know?
I see on the tournament web site that Anush Morrihead played in a All- Star game that was for unsigned players for 2007 .. ? I thought she was going to play for Radford University..
Wins - Lost
Shamrocks 0 - 4
Richmond Diamonds 3 - 1
Va Legends 2 - 2
That Louisville tourament with N.J. is won 1 - Lost- 3

I'll give it a shot.
They are all part of the Louisville Slugger Independence Tournament. This year, there were 3 separate tournaments: Independence Day 18's - Boulder (80 teams), Independence Day 18's - Louisville (32 teams), and Independence Day 16's - Longmont (32 teams).
Independence Day 18U - Boulder
The Independence Day - Boulder will consist of 80 teams, including some of the top teams in the country. The vast majority of these teams have been playing in the Independence Day Tournament since its inception.
Independence Day 18U - Louisville
The Independence Day - Louisville will consist of 32 teams. Many of these teams have been on waiting list or are teams moving up from the 16 and under tournament. The top six teams from this event will qualify for the 2008 Independence Day - Boulder.
On Sunday, all games are in Boulder.

I do know that the Boulder Tournament attracted a lot of big name schools and very competetive ball teams from all over the United States. I think you have to be invited to play in that particular showcase I`m not sure. But I have been lucky enough to of attended the Sparkler Showcase in the past and know that there are very, very excellent teams from all over the United States. If you watch the College World Series
you will hear about players that have transferred from a junior school to a four year college. Believe me there is nothing wrong with being recruited by a junior
college, D2 or D3 school. Some of the D1 schools do go and watch the Allstar and All American games at the Sparkler. So they are there but their name may of not been mentioned. You can register as a walk up College Coach .If that is what fits your need and you can still get the education that you want and play softball at the same time. How great is that.I visited the websites also and I think that the Lady Eagles are the only team playing there from Virginia. The Boulder Tournament of course the Shamrocks, Diamonds, Legends just to name a few are there.

I think it would be great either way. I am sure the girls from Virginia are seeing what softball is all about out there. Hopefully they will come back and share their experience with all of us. Just to be invited sounds awesome in its self. Good Luck to all teams in both touraments. :o

The Peninsula Stars 16U took first at the End of the Season Show Stopper. They played very well against 18U and 16U teams. Congratulations girls good job. My daughter is on this team and we are so proud of how far they have come. We currently have two fourteen year olds on the team playing key positions and the entire team is doing a fabulous job. We have the best head Coach, Mike Mugler, who has assembled some really good hitting and pitching coaches to assist. We can't wait until this summer.

All right, I want to go to Italy in Oct for 2 wks. I was thinking of Globus or Brendan tours. I would also like to travel to France and Amsterdam. Is this too much in 2 wks? Any suggestions for how I should travel, or what is a must see. I want to see a bit of everything. Also, what kind of clothes should I bring for October? Thank you very much for any suggestions.
