An addition to HRvarsity
Over the next few weeks, we will be implementing a feature called MyTeam at HRvarsity. This will enable us to have continually updated stats, standings and schedules on the site.
Each high school in Hampton Roads will have its own home page where rosters, school news, etc., can be found.
Now, I am looking for people to help maintain their school's pages. It isn't a lot of work. Primarily, it's entering rosters into the database before a season begins, helping us keep scores and statistics up-to-date and keeping track of schedule changes.
If there's a team parent or student manager who is interested in one specific sport at a school, that's great. Or if several people from a school are interested, we can divide the workload.
You would be provided with a username and password that will give you access to your school's area and we'll show you how to do the updates.
If you are interested, please e-mail me at lburke@dailypress.com. Tell me the school, if you're interested in helping out with all sports or with specific sports.
ATHLETE PHOTOGRAPHS
Also, in conjunction with MyTeam's rosters, we'll be able to display head and shoulders photographs of athletes. If you are an athlete, or if your son / daughter / grandson / grandaughter / niece / nephew will play high school sports next year, please feel free to e-mail a head and shoulders photo (school photos are fine) to lburke@dailypress.com or you can upload them to the photo gallery on HRvarsity.
