Hey Marty---

I was wondering---if Grafton wins out and Tabb wins all of its games except Grafton, then both teams will have 2 losses, will have split the regular season series and both lost to Jamestown once. I know this is forward-looking, but if this happens, who gets the one-seed in the district tournament? I think I remember that whoever does better in the tournament would get the one-seed points for regionals from the regular season, but I was unsure of the tiebreak for district tournament seeding. Thanks!

This might be a situation where the preseason draw made by athletic directors decides top seed in the district tournament. ...... if both win out from here on, but Grafton beats Tabb on Thursday.

Usually the tie-break for seeding is the number of total district victories of the opponents you defeat. But both Tabb and Grafton have lost to Jamestown, so, if Grafton beats Tabb (and neither loses otherwise in the regular season), the number of district victories is the same for both.

Whomever has a better preseason draw gets the higer seed for the district tournament.

However, when two teams are tied record-wise in the regular season, the higher seed in the regional tournament goes to the team that finishes higher in the district tournament. In that case, district tournament results is the tie break.
