Coach's, Parents, and Players in the PD and BRD.
The coaching staff at Warwick High School has been working towards beginning a fall program for any team in the BRD or PD. With both Districts there are around 20 teams eligible to participate. The Fall Program has been a huge success for our baseball counterparts and it is time for our ladies to have this program available to them as well. It is an excellent off-season training tool available to everyone of us to better players, our individual programs, our district competition, and ultimately better penninsula softball as a whole.
Anyone interested please feel free to contact me in this forum; e-mail: t-man@cox.net; or on my cell: 696-3115. I will provide you with any information you need.

UPDATE:
Thank You to all who have responded! It looks as though the Fall Season for the Ladies is going to happen.
The Fall Season is scheduled to begin the 17th of September with each tem expected to play around 12 to 14 games.
As of now the following schools have committed or expressed interest in participating: Tabb, Poquoson, Warwick, Heritage, and Kecoughtan.
There is still plenty of time to get involved! Contact me using the information on the original post. If there are any players out there who want to play even if the school you belong to does not participate contact me as well. You are more than welcome to play.

Can a player from another district play outside of their own district if their team does not have a fall team? For example a Bay Rivers play with a Peninsula team?
Have there been any player contacts from coaches and will anyone be able to play even if they were not a member of the spring J.V. or Varsity teams? Is their a player maxium and how will this fall program be funded? Will the players be required to pay a fee? I hope this program works but I also hope that it doesn`t turn out to be a contest between the Bay Rivers and the Peninsula District. There was so much talk about having a allstar game between the two districts back in the spring . This is not what this is all about.Good luck to all .Will the head coaches be able to coach? Will this be a job for the J.V. coaches?

My apologies for not responding earlier than this. It is ok for a player to play outside of the district they represent as long as they spring team they play for is not involved in the fall program. There is an entry fee for each team to cover the costs of umpires and insurance. The coaching staffs have that information. Rosters for each team does not have a maximum. In fact it was made clear the intent is not to have try-outs or cut anyone. It is to put players back on the field outside the normal season.
Please call me @ 696-3115 if you are interested still interested in playing even if your High School team is not participating.

UPDATE:
News of the program is spreading and more and more teams are becoming interested. Most are having or already have had team meetings to determine who is interested. Surprisingly some schools have had such a great turn-out they may actually have multiple teams.
Coach's: If you have not already done so, find out your player interest. Schedule a team meeting.
Players: Contact your coach's and see if your school is going to be involved. Contact me if you want to play even if your school is not.
The season is about to begin. Contact me no later than 18 September, 2007 if you are interested.

First, ... Let me give a special "Thank You!" to Mr. Tony Schultz for making this all happen. Tony has done a tremendous job giving advise and directing an "idea" into "reality" THANK YOU TONY!!!!!
The 1st game of the season has happened. Kecoughtan (1) and Warwick met Tuesday night and what an eventful night it was. There was approximately 80 people in attendance which was a great surprise. During the 1st inning some spectators were playing around with a football in the street....one kick later it hit the power lines....LIGHTS OUT. The blue sparks were quite impressive. haha Needless to say we got one inning in before darkness prevented further play.
Tonight there is another game: 7:00pm @ Riverside Elementary School. Kecoughtan (3) vs. Heritage. Come on out and watch.
I will see what I can do about putting up the schedule.
