Colin Lenhardt, a rising junior Gloucester, finished third in his weight class in the Cadet Freestyle Nationals wrestling tournament in Fargo, N.D.

Lenhardt, who wrestles at 171 pounds, beat John Ebelin of Missouri with a 49-second pin in the third-place match. Earlier, he had won five straight matches by pin in his pool, lost to eventual champion Chris Phillips of Ohio, then decisioned Chesten Kesselhon of Wisconsin before pinning Ebelin.

Lenhardt’s six pins were the most of the cadet portion of the tournament.

In the Junior Nationals, held at the same time in Fargo, Denny Herndon of Grafton went 2-2 in his 130-pound pool, and Grafton’s Chase Ennis was 1-2 at 189 pounds.

Lenhardt wrestled at 171 for Gloucester last year, but coach Ricky Pierce said Lenhardt was bothered by concussions. He reached the state tournament and, after losing in the first round, had to pull out of his consolation matches because of the injury.
