Cox junior Brinson Paolini already completed his high school resume this week with an Eastern Region golf title. Now the American Junior Golf Association is giving him one more honor for the trophy case.
The AJGA named Paolini to the HP Scholastic Junior All-American team Wednesday. The team comprises of 12 boys and 12 girls and rewards golfers for their performance both on the golf course and in the classroom.
“HP is delighted once again to recognize academic excellence with the naming of the 2007 HP Scholastic Junior All-America Team,” John Dayan, vice president of marketing, Personal Systems Group Americas, Hewlett Packard said in a statement. “The AJGA works hard to prepare young adults for life after high school by instilling honor, perseverance and good sportsmanship. HP is proud to be associated with the AJGA and this great group of young adults.”
Paolini shot a 69 and a 68 in the Eastern Region tournament Monday and Tuesday, helping his Cox team take the overall team title, 292-291. Paolini was named Most Valuable Player of the team and is the Falcons' captain.
Out of 487 students in his class, Paolini is ranked 18th.
Paolini is ranked 42nd in the Polo Golf Rankings at the national level. During the 2007 AJGA season, he recorded four top-25 finishes including a tie for ninth at The Junior PLAYERS Championship, an AJGA Invitatonal.
