Warwick has a few freshmens one you'll hear about is Brandon Delk - OF/P-2011, and two more you might hear about are Brandon Vick - LHP/OF - 2011 and Ben Delgado - C - 2011
also Nick Lawless- OF - 2009 - Warwick

Delk is the best of the three, and the other 2 really, probably should not be on varsity.. but, that's in Coach Todd Barker, and Assistant Coach Cooke's hands.

Heritage has a great team this year and i think they have a chance at winning districts they have a great pitching staff led by senior Nick Taylor and Junior Nick Johnston watch for them to come out strong

I would add Justin Shively ('09) and Shane Hoggard ('09) to the list.

i would have to agree Taylor, Johnston will b the spark plugs for this team and look out for sleeper Josh Evans and with that good leadership Winn, and the others will follow

comments on these players?
look for chrismon to be an underdog on that Menchville team this year. As i heard he had an Amazing fall, pitching on the mound! same as Carter and Armstead.

And still no Shively or Hoggard, both of whom were 2nd team all district last year? Kecoughtan has some young talent behind the dish and from Phoebus P/SS John Voris - 2010

Add Shivley and Shane to the list, I hit against Shively last year, he's some up and coming talent, and Shane, I've played with before, he'll definetly be a monster this year like he was last year..

just an FYI for a few of yall, Nick Lawless, being a junior, isn't an underclassman anymore.

I agree with the statement for the class of 2009 but the thread had all non seniors in the discussion hence the title.

Don't forget about some of the young men at or heading to Hampton -- Sammy Massie (C/P 2011), Timothy Kelly (P/C 2012), and Jordan Edgar (P/OF 2012).

What is the purpose of this list? Why aren't seniors available? These names are nothing but guesses. Some of these players might not even play varsity next year. There are some seniors on the rise that deserve attention as well.

my best guess is that some pansy underclassman felt left out because seniors always get the attention.

I also agree there should be a list with seniors because imo they deserve the most attention because they are the ones who are in need of scholarships the most and are on their way out of high school.

you have to realize that by baseball season in a player's senior year that he'll already have applied to colleges and probably already been given scholarship offers. by that time, its just a choice of who gives you the most money. you just have to keep up what you've doing so you don't get your acceptance or scholarship revoked.

OK then start the list of players that are seniors in the district by team. You can always start from last years all-district team. :focus:

Again, if you are counting on the class of 2009 and younger, add Shively and Hoggard to that list.

Heritage will be one of the top 6 this year, they will end up going to disrticts.
they have good pitching statis and a really good infield, with trevin wilson at shortstop, tyler winn at second, william lafontaine at third and dave weeding or nick taylor at first. they have a pretty good all around catcher this year. andrew will be pretty strong and a good team leader. with zack zastrow in center, teddy brewer in center and nick johnston in right they should have a good defense this year. well i would expect heritage to be a good all around team. also with bethel , with kiz , zack, and a couple others.

Justin Shively, lol Brandon Shively, P - 2009
Matt Mitchell - hampton - 2B - 2008..
William Ward - Warwick - OF - 2009 , Ward did well last year for Warwick coming up and suprising many.
Jordan Ritz - Woodside - 2B - 2011, good Offensive player, defense is somewhat shakey.
Brandon Delk - Warwick - OF - 2011 , will also be a good player, him and Ward in the outfield will be outstanding for Warwick, only other thing will be to fill the other spot, but they'll be a good 1, 2 punch.
Shane Hoggard - Bethel - DH/ 1B - 2009, got 2nd team all district last year, the kids just a monster, period.
My picks, honestly the list probably shouldn't extend a lot further than this.
