THE HAMPTON CRABBERS ARE UNDOUBTEDLY THE TEAM TO BEAT IN THE PD, NOT ONLY THAT THEY SHOULD BE CONSIDERED REGIONAL CONTENDERS ( ALONG WITH GREAT BRIDGE AND KELLUM). THE CRABBERS ARE LONG OVER DUE FOR A DISTRICT TITLE, AND ALSO ARE PREDICTED TO HAVE 8 TO 10 DISTRICT CHAMPIONS,5 REGIONAL WINNERS, 5 STATE PLACERS TOP 4, AND 3 STATE WINNERS.:clap2:

BUT ALSO

The Daily Press should shine the spotlight for example on Hampton Wrestling. I think the Capt.'s of Hampton High(Ronnie Thacker,Anthony Battle, DJ Carlomany,Sal Leonardi, Gab Perkins, and Emmanuel Williams, and also co Capt. Sterlin Perry, Nick Sapp, and Aron Coleman )work more than anyone in this state hands down, but they have yet to get an interview, not even a quote in the sports section, when they deserve to be on the front page.So I MOVE that the daily press give them the Credit they deserve and give them a interview on the upcoming season and future plan's for the RED AND WHITE.

Always enjoy watching the Crabbers wrestle. Very physical. Work on the technique and there is no reason they cant perform like you predict. Watch out for Menchville though, they are not going to roll over. Kellam will do good this year but the problem with Bch Dist is it has so many competitive teams, 11 I think, that its hard to carry enough from any one team to regionals . If hampton can carry that many then it will indeed do well.

Southside has the same problem re press coverage. They dont seem to know how much interest there is in the sport. Im hoping this site will be a place where articles about HR HS Wrestling will get posted. Maybe with all the interest in MMA and the critical part that wrestling skills have shown it will get some interest in pure part of the sport.

Menchville is the team to beat in the pd. They are well coached. They lost some key seniors but we will see. Hampton has some very good althletes if they can get more fundamentals. Should be a good year of PD wrestling.

Denbigh is deff the team to beat this year with their fresh lineup. Team Captains Travis Little, and Jeremy Gotterup push the team past their limits everry day, from personal observation they're making leaps and bounds as a team, and are a far cry from what we saw in the district tournament last year

lol i admire denbigh's heart but it's like i said b4 we r out for blood we got dicked in last year's district's tournament and during the season but not again i refuse to except that...to tell the truth i dont think denbigh is even a contender for districts but maybe you guys will prove me wrong lol

i saw every match in the district tournament, and hampton was far from "dicked" almost all of the calls that could've gone either way went to HHS so i don't want to hear it

Im not saying anything bout either team but ive personally wrestle and i would like to say Hampton does have a higher chance of winning Ive wrestled Coleman (no joke lol) so I just want to say gooduck to all the teams but a sleeper will be Heritage Hurricanes (not saying we winning districts just saying we gonna put heavy competition to every1 we wrestle)

im jus sayin mathmaticly it was no way we could have lost we had 8 finalist they had 5 we and 4 champs with 2 pins they had 3 winners no pins we had 3 3rd place winners every body else got 4th no one from menchville won 3rd so when u look at that it's no way they could have one when u add the points up...so we got dicked and at the end of tournament they wouldn't review the scores they acted like they dissapeared so thats how we got dicked...

None of these wrestlers win win states. The 135 pounder will go the farthest. I dont see Thacker doing to much at 112 he didnt even make states at 103 last year after alot of weight cutting. All three should win districts but I see Hampton finishing second again this year as a team. Someone needs to dethrone the monarchs.

during the district tournament hampton did not have all of their starting wrestlers. their 152 and 160 did not wrestle and hampton had to put in wrestlers who were no where near as good as the people they had to throw in their. i just one of those wrestlers had wrestled then there would be on discussion of dethrowning the monarchs

I am THE wrestling coach at Menchville. I am glad you guys are working hard and want to win. (I hope all teams do) I am all for the trash talking but what i don't like is making things up. Menchville won the district period!!! We had 10 finalist not 5. I repeat 10. We had at least four champs 112, 145, 160, and 215. Six runner ups. We had two other kids get forth and one fifth. We had 13 of 14 kids place in the tournament. Hampton had 7 NOT!!!! 8 finalist. They only had 4 champs not 5. 112, 125, 130, 135. and placed 12 people. WE WON!! Hampton had a GREAT team and should be proud of what they did but don't say you were "dicked". Good luck to all the district this year. I know Hampton has put a lot of time in this summer and I wish you the best. As far as Menchville goes we will show up and wrestle our best may the chips fall were ever they may. Good Luck

I am the wrestling coach at Hampton. This disscusion is over for all Hampton wrestlers! We are not the type of team that runs our mouth. When its time to wrestle we will show up and wrestle hard. Trash talk means nothing in our sport esspecially when you are using false information. Hampton keep your mouth shut and bust your @!#$ in practice and everything else will work it self out!

Work Harder, Get Stronger, Be Better!!!

team to beat i dont know but the team that is going to want it more is denbigh did you see the york classic even with a new line up the showed heart even one guy walk away with a gold (119 Travis Little)

ohyeagettintight
12-04-2007, 10:56 AM
Travis Little was losing in the finals before the kid from Warwick hurt his knee. So I dont understand how he will be getting to states if he cant beat him. That kid also looked alot smaller. So the Warwick wrestler gets healthy and there is a rematch expect Little getting beat.

ok little was getting beat but was comming back that bear hug would have stuck him if he did not get hurt ot would have tied them up it was only the frist period so youll see little a states

Bear hug? From what i saw the kid was trying to turn away form Little like a standing switch and he turned his knee. Little was losing 5-2 he was put on his back rather quickly in the first. Dont see him going to states. sorry

I've watched PD wrestling over the years and it just does not compare to what the Beach and some other southside team do. We in the PD might have a good kid here and there but when was the last state team title, how many PD wrestlers have won a state title in the past five years and compare it to the Beach or other districts. Best of luck to PD wrestlers, but as far as the Daily press is concerned football gets the most exposure because it appears to draw the most interest from the fans.

What is wrong with you coach. Don't respond to the blogs as coach of HHS, coach of MHS you guys sound like the kids. This is very unprofessional. Rule #1 in coaching other peoples opinions dont matter, your success is determined by your team and individual players goals not the expectations of fans or rivals. High school athletics is about the kids.
