Courtland beat KG 49-13, Courtland ran the ball for over 350 yards, and threw for another 136. This was not contest as Courtland scored on every possesion except for one, when they lost a fumble on a very bad call by the refs. The Courtland defense played a stellar game, holding down a very good KG offense. Courtland played without two of its best defenders and one starting running back due to minor injuries. The coaches thought it was best to hold them out a week, even though they could have played. Well now comes the big show down with JM, for the outright district title. I believe that Courtland will win this game, JM is a great team, but Courtland is going to keep the JM offense on the sidelines by running the ball, Courtlands size and speed to match up with JM will give them fits all night, keeping away from giving JM any easy scores like Kickoff or punt returnswill be the key. This is just going to be a great ball game. The playoffs, well if Courtland loses next week, I do believe that even with the 3 possible losses that they will get in. Courtland has played probably on of the toughest schedules in the state, they have played 3 teams ranked in the top ten state poll, and two AAA clubs, on that will only have one loss. We just have to have to wait and see what happens.:)
