After watching the game last night, I honestly believe the Bulls have a legitimate shot. But it's going to be a hard row to hoe. How bad do you want it Bulls? How bad do you want it?

If the Islanders leave it all on the field like they did against JM anything can happen........nobody outside of Poq is gonna give you a chance, but if the coaches and players have their "A" game like they did last night, you can bet there is a chance. Only you (players and coaches) can make a difference; it doesn't matter what anyone else does or says. Keep the intensitiy and show the rest of the state what you are made of. Good luck and go kick some tail....................

I have to say it..........Great job to the Back River Midgets, congrats on your SUPER BOWL victory you and the Bulls are the future of Poquoson HS football!!!!!!!

Get some

Tabbfannforever2008- for someone that hates the bulls so much, you spend alot of your life worry about what they are doing! Good Luck to the Bulls- don't worry about any other games, but the one ahead of you (Brunswick). Win one at a time! Go away TabbFan:boxing:

You speak to TabbFanForever as if Poquoson had actually beaten Tabb.

Bay, to quote one of the Caveman commercials--- "Uh, what?????" Please go back and read these posts again. I don't think anyone on here said anything about Poquoson beating Tabb. Tabb made us look bad the night we played them, they were the better team that night.

TabbFanForever2008, if Tabb makes it to the State finals next year, I'll bet the Bulls will be pulling for them. :clap2: Of course, they will be playing for the D4 title and we hope to be playing for the D3 title. :clap2:

Beating a team of the quality and speed of JM shows Poquoson can beat any team in D3 on a given day. I like their chances against Brunswick . Good luck and keep focused.

You guys talk like D4 is a different breed of football, lets humble yourselfs here fellas. DOnt forget when York and Poquoson in years past consistantly handed out losses to the D4 teams, except laf(but we did win some). Tabb you guys have had a couple good years in a row (im glad tabb football is back) but get into the playoffs and make some noise before hating on poquoson football who consistantly has done it the last 8 years.

With programs Like Salem and Amherst in Div 4, winning it all in Div 4 is huge task for anyone. Powhatan pounded Brunswick. Div 4 in most years, statewide, is a tougher road than Div 3. But not always, I will admit.

Playing in Lawrenceville is no easy feat. It is the only stadium in the Southside that has a stone/cement bleacher system for the home team. The facilities are horrible. The PA system can't be heard. The food is usually a fish fry which is not half bad The field is a mess. When Powhatan played there 2 weeks ago there was high grass on the sidelines and a dirt/sand mixture with almost no grass in the middle. Terrrible footing for the players.

Brunswick is the only stadium in the Southside District that the deputies check you for weapons with a hand held metal detactors before you walk in. I have not seen that since I was in high school back in the late 1980's and Menchville played Denbigh at Todd Stadium.

The key to beating Brunswick is hitting their QB, Antonio Epps. Brusnwick is a young team and he is a 4-year starter at QB. As he goes, so goes Brunswick. When Powhatan knocked him out in the second quarter, their offense went in the toilet. They have size and speed. Four kids who play on the O and D line are over 300 lbs (355, 300, 310 and 350 respectively)

However, they could not stop Powhatan's running game despite their size. They are hard to pass against because of their speed at LB and in the secondary but you can definitely run on them.

Best of luck to Poquoson. However, if you win in Lawrenceville, I do not see you winning against Monticello, should they beat Millbrook in the Region II game. Hedgeman is a monster at RB and a tough fellow to bring down.

Didn't Monticello beat Powhatan? That's a tough bunch up there.....but so was JM, or so JM and the rest of the Battlefield thought. I wouldn't count that scrappy bunch out just yet. Hard to beat a team that believes in themselves when nobody else will.....you get that playing pi$$ed off factor. Makes for one tough nut to crack.

Yes Powhatan did get beat by Monticello. It was a good game and Powhatan was leading at halftime 21-14. Hedgeman ran for almost 300 yards and 5 Tds. He was really tough to stop. What compounded matters was the amount of Powhatan players with injuries. 1st team and all state RB was playing with an injured hamstring. 1st team CB and 2nd string RB went out with back spasms, starting H-back out with ankle injury, All-state starting right tackle out with knee injury, both starting middle linebackers had injuries to shoudler and hamstring.

If all things were equal, I think Powhatan may have beaten them but it would have been close. Monticello is very talented offensively but average on defense.

When we got behind, we pressed and did not execute. With the injuries, it made coming from behind that mcuh more difficult. But regardless of the injuries, it still no excuse as you have to execute out on the field with the personnel you have. Players have to step up and that did not happen

Lafayette i agree what your saying about the D4 and D5 playoffs, im just talking about the district, poquoson doesnt roll around like that, they dont overlook teams they just beat teams they are suppose to and fight and kick against teams they shouldnt beat or as some say shouldnt be on the same field. What i was trying to point out BAY was that in the last 8 years poquoson has owned smithfield, jtown, tabb (except the last two), have beaten laf, and beat grafton. with NK South and York down this year it just makes the two divisions look soo different. Think about it

WARNING: Sounds like Poqouson has a really big head right now. You only have won 1 playoff game. Don't let it get away from you. Learn to be humble and let your play speak for itself. Coaches should keep you off of message board so you don't lose focus. Good luck and remember to play 1 game at a time.

These Kids are focoused, most of them don't even look at this site because they want to stay focuosed. Plus you haven't heard much from them, as far as that goes they have been real quit. Alot of that has to go to the coaches, thats part of coaching and getting your team ready, and they have done a wonderful job with these young Men.

Bottom Line, this is now a one game season every week. I'm sure coach Duty knows that and is more than willing to remind his team. I think they have a legit shot at beating Brunswick if their def. holds. They have a strong, balanced offense that will keep teams guessing and it's no longer a season where they face D4 schools. They will have teams more their size (school numbers wise) and with the raw talent being shaped more and more every week I expect them to continue to surprise people. Good luck bulls, and take care of business one week at a time.
