New Kent 93 Warhill 84
New Kent struggled early in this game. Warhill came ready to play in all phases of the game. They shot the three ball well all night. In the first half they dominated the boards. Warhill pushed the lead to 12 points before things fell apart. With roughly two minutes to go in the first half New Kent went on a tear getting 5 steals and easy layups. They turned a 10 point deficit into a 2 point lead going into the locker rooms.
New Kent came out in the second half a bit slow, but as did Warhill. Both teams caught fire and there was a bit of a three point shooting frenzy. New Kent eventually began to pull away as they dominated the boards in the second half.
Kudos to Warhill for a great showcase of three point shooting. In the end New Kent's shooting and domination of the inside late proved to be too tough for the Lions.
BTW Warhill has some great facilities there and the crowd could get pretty wild at times. I see a great future for this team and look for them to steal some games against the so call "perennial powers" of the BRD :D.
New Kent looks forward to a home game friday night with Poquoson, a team who gave them a lot of trouble last year. They then follow it up with a great matchup with Tabb at Tabb on Saturday night.
