HAMPTON -- In a match-up of Bay Rivers District rivals, Tabb outlasted Grafton 55-21 in the Black & Blue consolations of the Virginia Duals Saturday morning at the Hampton Coliseum.
Tabb took a quick 12-0 after starting the bout with a pin from Matt Wagoner (103) and Michael Smith took the 112-pound match by forfeit. Jeremy Carpenter (125) and Andrew Williams (135) also recorded victories for the Tigers.
Josh Harris (119), Chase Ennis (189), Aaron Lyon (215) and Keith Person (285) gave the Clippers their only wins of the meet.
Tabb will face Grassfield at noon in the next consolation round. Grafton falls to the loser-vs.-loser bracket, where it will face Salem.
