Western Branch High School’s Kaitlin Bennett selected to continue her softball career in the collegiate ranks for the four-time defending Appalachian Athletic Conference champions University of Virginia’s College at Wise Lady Cavaliers last week.
UVa-Wise third-year head coach Tori Raby-Gentry was excited to ink the Chesapeake, Va. product.
“Kaitlin is an outfielder that is a great fit for the program. She is a good student and a solid player,” exudes the head coach. “She has the potential to come in and make an immediate impact to our program.”
Bennett had a solid junior softball season. She hit .364 with 20 hits in 55 at bats with eight runs and three doubles. The outfielder drove in 13 runs and posted an quality .393 on base percentage.
The talented youngster is also part of the softball travel team of the Virginia Legends “A” team.
