I have heard from many of the players at Menchville that there is a new head coach. He has been the JV coach for many years. What does anyone know about him? Can we expect Menchville to compete this season? Curious:confused:

I think he will be ok. If it is who I think it is he is very intense. I am not sure how that will play out with the girls at MHS.

My child plays for GHS and she faced his teams. He is very intense but he is a good coach.

Yes I have watch him coach many times and he can be very emotional but that just his nature. But there is no one more deserving and ready to take on this challenge. The Peninsula District is made up of coaches all with different coaching styles and personalities. Red coaches with more intensity than most,Larry is always very comical,Mike is very stern and Jimmy just kind of a laid back style and so forth. The only sad thing is the district has lost one of the few women coaches they had and I asked does anyone know the truth why? Good Luck Too All Teams and have some FUN for thats the way it should be.)

i go to mhs and have played for dragone and he is a great coach! he makes it fun for us while teaching us at the same time. his intensity on the field is definently one of the best parts about him as a coach haha. i have had many coaches through my many years of playing softball and he is definently one of my favorites. i think he will make a great varsity coach:)

and to mhs fan, i think we can definently expect mhs to compete, although it will be a building season. losing our starting pitcher, shortstop, second baseman, and a few others is a hard hit, but we aren't gonna lay down for the other teams. it'll be an interesting season for us hahh!

A couple of posts delete here ... one accusatory which threw out some unsubstianted rumors and a post reacting to the original post.

Don't post rumors ("I heard that .....") ... in this case, it got the post deleted.

Congrats to Coach Dragone! I have coached opposite his teams for a number of years now. Make no mistake...he has always put out a quality team and there is no doubt that the players feed off of him. Menchville will be a contender!

I finally got to see MHS coach in action yesterday against Warwick. He is very intense but I was impressed with his game management. He remained relatively calm in tight situations and was making good decisions. I think he even high fived the third baseman from Warwick when she took the field for her hit that put the Raiders ahead in the top of the seventh before MHS rallied in the bottom of the inning. He didn't go by the book in certain spots and it paid off. Hats off to the ladies of both teams and good luck for the remainder of the season.
