ok, you obviously dont know what you're talking about. you play for hampton, ooh you got some transfer students, big deal, that wont send you to the top 4 or let you beat landstown or kellam or any of those beach teams you said you would beat. those 6 transfer students wont help you beat guys that have been playing together forever from MHS, KHS, and WHS.

i heard they were gonna be more strict on it. somthin like they arent gonna do the normal line-up and check deal, if they see theyre too small theyre gonna card the coach. dunno if its all true, its just what i heard.

I think all the players should sign a waver saying I do not care how big my shine gaurds are and i will not sue any one for me getting hurt. But i dont understand why there being so stricked on shine gaurds now of days.

totally agree with you on that.in the long run it is safe, but no one wants those huge ones like we all wore back in our rec days lol. thats what theyre pushing towards im sure, and the waver idea sounds really good.

i hate the shin guard rule, i hate big shin guards, they get in the way and they look ugly.

the waiver would be sweet, but i doubt it would work,even though im sure every player realized the risk of wearing 6.5 inch shin guards as opposed to 9 inch shin guards.

It's not the ref's problem. He personally could probably care less, other than punishment for letting a game get out of hand. VHSL just doesn't want to get sued by crazy parents. Personally, I'd never wear those tiny slivers of plastic that some people call shinguards. What some people wear could more accurately be called "4 inches in the middle of my lower-leg guards". I want to play past the age of 20. So as long as they don't require us to wear huge things up to our knees (or mouthguards haha), I'm not really bothered by having to wear less-than-tiny shinguards.

It is the responsibilty of the coach... they may come around and make suggestions but if a game has started... a coach will be carded for violations... the only concern i have is that the refs have a discretion to throw up a red card if there are several violations even tho the head of VHSL said coaches should not be thrown out of a game for this offense unless they are blatant and rampant... just a concern.... for all coaches

i wish we could just play at our own risk. or sign a waver like mhswizard said. i personally like my shin guards the smallest they can go. its a personal preference. im sure many other players would agree with me on that. some of us just feel more comfortable with smaller shin guards versus the huge *** "leg guards"

Actually, they were told that they could do the pregame thing but it was not necessary.... and they wont card the coach until after the whistle blows... and the game is being played...Number 11 is right tho.. that refs can have a chip on their shoulder and card at will

Oh, okay. That makes more sense. I don't know if having "unequipped" players would necessarily be a cardable offense for a coach, but more likely reprimand from the powers that be in PD sports.

The Shinguard rule is the same for all the districts. Just be glad you don't have to wear mouthguards.

haha. i know neither of you, but taking a wild guess ill say kg123 probably gets a good amount of playing time. and crabber soccer might get some AT HAMPTON, however if you were to play on a team that has won a game in the last few years im pretty sure you would be the one getting the nice view from the bench. not 100% sure, just taking a wild guess.:)

Haha I have yet to see a french person at hampton... thats funny, I dont really care how many players Hampton has that are not from aroung here, It doesnt mean that they are any good. Thats just a Concept of your mind that says "Oh hey look we have some european players, so they MUST be good..."
