Woodside Soccer

Now im a third party observer but i have noticed that all of these woodside players and coach(who knows what a grown man is doing on here?) think that they are a decent team or something? This humors me and even though i come from a decent team i know our fate every year is losing so why dont yall except that as well? yeah we will prob be 0-10 this year but woodside you guys can have fun winning about 4 games

Wow... KG 123... Im actually impressed..good comment. As for crabber kid... the purpose of these boards is to discuss soccer.. and as a coach I give a unique perspective.. I think we will be good. I'm not saying we will be undefeated... but I havent even made a prediction about my squad.. just perpective of all the kids coming to play...which is always a good thing.... as far as you are concerned... you will be 0-10 with an attitude like that... and if u were on my team... well you woulldn't cause i would cut you if you thought that way...

I have a life.. .and trust me... I have no worries... I can say that I enjoy talking soccer even tho no one has started talking the proverbial smack yet, but i look forward to the season being fun and competetive

It humors me that a person from a school like hampton thinks they can say somthing about soccer and actually be taken seriously. I mean maybe if your school had any decent soccer players in the last four years other than brian tarvan (the only reason i know he was good is because he played on my travel team) you could actually have some sort of potential in growing as a team and actually winning ONE game. lol. yeah woodside has alot to prove this season. and talk is cheap, i agree with you on that. and as kg123 said, i also agree that yall will more than likely remain 0-10 :)

I mean im sitting in my architectural drawing class finised my work and i just get on. I think it would be a show if woodside were to step it up this year in their winning record.

I don't realistically have a problem with any school. Some individuals, obviously, are *****s, but besides that I don't absolutely hate a team just because. Denbigh are rivals because we know many of the players, and Warwick is fun to be at odds with as long as things don't go middle school level like last season online.

A lot of the members on this site are grown men or women. It's a public site for people to talk maturely about sports. You can tell when a teenager gets up here because basically all they want to do is talk smack. Which is obvious in your case. And really if this site was made for anyone in particular I would say it was for older people, due to the fact the athletes shouldn't worry about what other people have to say. Don't believe the hype, but in your case there is no hype because you have no faith in your team at all. Should get a better attitude. :focus:

Well some people just like to get people all angry because they know in response they will make alot of contrversy over what they say. But then again there are just some people that think there the greatest and can say what ever. So some of what is said on this is just to mess with people and some is just to talk about actual highschool soccer.

:focus:; I only saw Woodside a couple of times last year and don't claim to know much about their talent. What I did see was an energetic coach who wasn't afraid to encourage his team. I have seen references to the offensive abilities of some of the players, but no comments about your defensive play. The players in the two games that I saw played a very effective offside trap, with good discipline and very little panic. It will be interesting to see if they can score some goals to go with their defense.

I couldn't agree more with your analysis of us last season. Sometimes I wish they awarded a point for every, I dunno, 10 successful traps haha. Everyone wanted to play offense, yet we never scored enough.... Weird, right? I'm excited for this season to say the least.

It is simple for woodside, bethel, and mabey Denbiegh this year they have to win the games they are suppose to and I think they will fight for top 6 spots in the district
Ex Bethel tied heritage and Woodside loss that just cant happen if they really want to be a threat in the district

Last year, we lost focus when games against "easy" teams came up. Hampton and Phoebus were fairly close, and Heritage was probably the worst loss I've experienced. We had no right to be complacent. Good thing is, everyone who was here last season is hungry to win the games we frittered away before.

Well Axel is defiently mexican, but possibily Brazilian distinct. That also means you play with a bunch of little kids, which are very good for there age but not great for high schools. Mostly they just play around and do tricks so I dont know how mcuh real soccer youre playing

I think its high time we cleared some things up.
1. Hampton will most likely not finish in the top 4 as someone predicted, but i don't think we will be 0-10 either. We've got some young, but inexperienced talent. I think we can win a few games this year, and we have the potential to stay with some of the stronger teams like KHS, MHS, and WHS.
2. I'm tired of everybody blasting hampton for its soccer. Yeah I understand we're not that good, but still, chill out. I know you feel good about yourself when you talk smack about the weak teams, but come on kids. Let's grow up. We're a growing program.

Our swim team did fairly well also. First time making it to regionals in 10 years. By my senior year, I believe that hampton will be a soccer team to recon with, and not just another easy win. Last year we gave a fighting loss every game. We had a few problems with players and their grades, (our JV goalie for example, "forgot" to tell us he had 3 F's first semister) But those players have either gotten their act together, moved away or dropped out. Last year was also the first time hampton had had a JV team in if i am correct almost 15 years. So those players will be moving up this year, as well as us recuiting people through out the year. Thats my 2¢

i do agree with your intellectual reasoning here.everytime some kid from one of the lesser known schools comes on here and posts, the people always commenting and whomping on those comments are the people from schools like menchville and more known power houses of the district (and im not saying its just those kids). i go to hampton and dont entierly agree with some of the previious statements but all i do have to say is on any given day and given team can beat any other given team.

Find me a quote that says anything about GHS saying they'd be number 1 this year I'm pretty sure you won't. I think its just that GHS seems to be forgotten when talking about the top teams in the district, I mean last year WHS KHS and MHS were supposedly the big three teams and we beat KHS in the tourney and WHS in the regular season. I know everyone on here seems to get all upset when past games are brought up to prove a point but I'm just saying

Haha ok yeah we didn't i wasn't going to mention that but yeah GHS never said anything about being first that i recall. However, they are competitive for a top 4 spot. I think the reason they're forgotten is that nobody knows anything about them being that the other PD schools are all relatively close and GHS is like 45 minutes away from the closest school. It seems to happen on the other sports forums too so I that would just be my take on it

So when are you guys going to relize that every one is not going to sit there and be like "Wow you know i love you all and i hope fo rthe best" Its a insticnt to alot of people to stand up for there schools and take pride in what they do.
