REGION I SECTIONAL WRESTLING TOURNAMENTS
WHEN: Today. Finals at Lafayette are scheduled to start at 7 p.m., but may start before that if other matches end earlier.
WHERE: Lafayette High School, Williamsburg; King George High School, King George.
OUTLOOK: Tabb and Grafton will travel to King George for the Western Sectional, while Poquoson, fresh off its second straight Bay Rivers District title, will join New Kent, Smithfield, Lafayette, York, Bruton, Southampton, Warhill and Jamestown in the Eastern Sectional at Lafayette. Top-ranked Andrew Williams (125) will begin his quest for yet another state title for Tabb, while the Gauntlet (Cody Silva, Kayton Marshall, Chase McAdams and Del Bryce) will set about helping Poquoson defend last year’s sectional and regional titles. Chase Ennis (189) and heavyweight Keith Person headline Grafton’s effort in the sectionals, and look for New Kent’s Luke Todd (135) to contend.
