1 - 0 KHS going into the 7th, PHS scored 3 runs in top of 7th. KHS relief pitcher got hit by a line drive and game was called due to darkness before the inning was over.

This was just that . A scrimmage and the score does not matter. Some scrimmages are played without umpires. Scrimmages are used for coaches to see what their defense and offense is looking like. They play their players in sevaral positions. Some games are called due to darkness and such. There are several good games this weekend and next week. Get out and try and catch a game. Check out the competetion. It doesn`t matter who wins not even for bragging rights. I do know that some teams though include these games for individual and team stats for their season stats . That is not right but they do it anyways.
Thanks Phil for the details. Softball911, we all know what a scrimmage is and what the coaches use it for and yes all of us make it to as many games as we can. I love going to the southside and peninsula games but the ones we can't get to we like to know details of how teams are shaping up. Apparently, your team must have lost a scrimmage recently and you don't want the rest of us to talk about scrimmages but this thread is called Softball Scrimmages. We wouldn't go on this website if we didn't love sports in general and want to see how teams start and where they end up for the year. Good Luck to all teams! Have a great season!!

As far as I'm concerned it all counts especially when you can hold a year in and year out power house to 0 runs through 6. This really has to tell you something about your teams either Poquoson or Kectotan. Poquoson and KHS, how do you spell that anyway, are both good teams. I would be interested in how KHS scored their run. Either way I am sure that is was a great game. Softball911 who did you scrimmage?

Kecoughtan scored somewhere in the 4th or 5th on a hit by the RF and then she got moved to 3rd I don't remember how and scored on a ball thrown by the catcher to pick her off third that hit her in the back and went to the fence that allowed her to come home. This was a really good game for both teams. Niether pitcher dominated and their were about the same # of hits/ baserunners on both sides. I am sure that both coaches saw what they needed to work on and where they were strong. I really do not remember very many errors on either side. These were two solid teams playing each other hard who knows how it would have ended had it not been for darkness. Who plays this week. KHS plays Tabb on Tuesday. Good luck to all.

I find it funny that the post made sure that it was mentioned the "relief" pitcher had the 3 runs scored against her in the 7th, not the starter. Gee , I wonder why? I'm sure the score book had that highlighted also because the score keeper would make sure of it. Daddy, Daddy, Daddy get in the stands and let a non partisan have it. Have a nice day.

"let's get along"....why are you such a trouble maker. I went back and looked at most of your posts and 80% contain dispairaging remarks about players, coaches and teams alike. If you don't have something positive to contribute to a post or discussion why don't you keep your negativity to yourself. It really serves no purpose to be so ugly. I don't pretend to be a perfect person and always positive but I try, I sure don't want to just muddy things up for no reason.

It's really not okay. It must really be miserable to just be so negative all the time. I feel sorry for some folks. :(
For the record, it will be in Poquoson's book also that the runs occurred after the relief pitcher came in for the simple reason that that's when they happened. That doesn't say anything bad about the relief pitcher that's just when they ocurred. Jeesh!

That doesn't say anything bad about the relief pitcher that's just when they ocurred. Jeesh! Why couldn't post have read "pitcher" without the word "relief"? Why, because that could have meant it was the starting pitcher who gave up the 7 runs, although there wasn't any names mentioned, we all know who the starting pitcher was. The starting pitcher , I am told, threw very well, as did the Poquoson pitcher. It's not the bookkeeping or who scored what on who . It's the fact that if it were unbiased then there wouldn't have any mention of "relief pitcher" in the post. If your going to be "part of the team" be fair to all of the team not just one. The relief pitcher has feeling and also reads this forum, so be cognizant of that fact.

not sure what game your talking about because there weren't 7 runs combined between the two teams involved. Get a life and stop expecting everyone to be PC. All four pitchers that pitched in the game were awesome. Both teams that played were awesome that's why it came down to the last inning. stop looking for drama and stop creating drama then guess what? there won't be any.:clap2:

Isn't it great that we live in a country where we have freedom of speech. To get a drivers license we need to go through a drivers education course and log 40 hours of driving and attend a behind the wheel class. Then when we get out on the road and do something stupid we are punished by having our license suspended or paying a hefty fine. Yet we can go online and spout off the most ******* things and have other people read how ignorant we are. Isn't that right "letsgetalong". Phil don't worry about her, her daddy wasn't involved because he didn't care. You do. There are lots of us out here that know you do.

This should be several good games .I guess. I`m not sure what Middlesex and Tabb are looking like. Doesn`t look like teams are scrimmaging anyone different this year.Same old games. I think that the BRD should scrimmage someone from the beach district and maybe teams from the PD should scrimmage teams from the area teams that play in the regionals from the BRD . If this makes any sense at all. The BRD powerhouse against the PD power house.Taylor glad you`re still involved with the softball team.
While not a Beach team or even a Southeastern distrist team, Chesapeake's Greenbrier Christian scrimmaged BRD Smithfield on Tuesday. Smithfield freshman pitcher, Alora Lincoln is a decent pitcher with a wicked change up which she will throw for a strike. If she gets ahead in the count, you can be sure the change is coming. Greenbrier travels to Warwick on Thursday and hosts Kellam and Mills Godwin on Saturday for their final scrimmages. Good luck to all teams this season no matter which district or conference.

Gloucester was up 3-0 after 6. Gloucester put in a backup pitcher and York just hit off of her for 9 outs. I think York scored 3 runs. The reason they only played 6 innings is Yorks pitcher got hit on the elbow while batting.

Gloucester scrimmaged Lafayette for 10 innings yesterday. After 7 innings Gloucester was up 3-0. Both teams changed pitchers for the other 3 innings and it was 2-2.

Does anyone know how these games turned out?
A friend called me during Gloucester and York game. Gloucester scored 3 runs York scored 4 and then they didn't do score because Gloucester put in different pitcher and let York bat around. Several of Yorks players got hit while batting starting in the 1st inning.

So let me if I understand you. If this were a regular season game YHS would have beaten GHS 4 - 3 with Coats pitching?

Ok this is it on the York Ghs scrimmage Coates pitched a one hitter through regulation with Ashleigh Steele getting the only hit for York though there were other well hit balls that one fell in between cf rf and second base. Then Red let other girls pitch and it was a different story York then hit and scored off of them. The score was 3-0 when Coates left.Prosper pitched well too but GHS manufactured some runs.Good luck to both teams this year.
