Did you see the game? Why was it unimpressive?

OL has no speed.

i didn't see the game that is why i put the ?. I just heard a lot of hype about OL and it doesn't seem like a score that a top contender would have. But to be honest I don't know what Western Branch has

It seems like other than Cox the Beach is down this year.

Two totally different soccer styles. OL is patient and knocks the ball around keeping possession. WB uses long probing passes to its speedy forwards. OL builds an attack. WB attacks using its speed.

It was #3 against #9 in the pilot's top 10 but that doesn't mean much this early in the season.

Is OL a young team or are they stacked with seniors?

I think they have a lot of Juniors

I wouldn't count Kellam out this early...they beat a good Jamestown team. PA is making some noise.

Green Run - 0 Western Branch - 0. Combination of a great game by Green Run's Keeper and bad finishing by Western Branch.

Interesting result since Western Branch has played so well against OL and another team I can't remember right now. How does Western Branch stack up against Great Bridge and Hickory.

The skinny there is that the branch lost their main scorer #10, who scored 2 against Menchville and 2 against Lafayette. The other forward was hurt on the Lafayette game to a nasty tackle so now they only have one forward.

The GR Keeper must of had 15 or more saves. WB forwards did not finish well.

#10 is out until the churchland game (4 weeks) because he got his appendix taken out this weekend.

The game was competitive but it wasn't pretty. It was physical, played on a narrow field. Rarely more than 3 passes. PA started well, attacking quickly, twice with 1v1 on the keeper with good saves. The goal came on a good play from the attacking left side, Weeks split 2 defenders and shot from inside the box. The keeper charged and deflected it but it still went inside the far post. The rest of the first half was basically kicking it back and forth at midfield. The only real action in the second half was driven by Kecoughtan when they had about a five to 10 minute stretch of passes but never really threatened to score. Probably 25 to 30 fouls. Too many to count, one Kecoughtan player suffered a broken nose from an inadvertant fist to the face. It probably would be a better game on a field were the kids can have some space.

Thanks for the feedback on the game.....I missed it. Btw, Darling Stadium is a joke of a field. Too narrow for any real soccer to be played.

I wish they'd do something about playing on a field that is wider than 60 or so yards. The Hampton soccer complex is nice, but they don't have lights.

Ocean Lakes was very average in performance. Great Bridge did a nice job of shutting down 16 and 19. The penalty kick earned by OL seemed like a dive, Adam Klink is one of the best keepers in this region. GB made a good comeback after the loss to Kellam. It was a fun match both crowds were into the match
