The time has come to put away the predictions and get on with the season. I see Tabb taking district for a few reasons. Over the past two years Coach Sharp has built his varsity team around some very talented juniors, now seniors, while also developing his younger players (down to the 8th grade level). He's kept this process going through the indoor season (unofficially) and has emerged this season with a very powerful and young team. He's anchored his defense with keeper Wallace, defenders Kienle (pronounced kin-lee), Stevens and Cherry and brought on some youngers defenders like Cutler and Jones. In middle, Betoney (pronounced bet-a knee) remains a strong presence with O'Brian, Katuzienski and Christein (all just young'ins) playing solid and owning the middle of the field. The forwards are anchored by Mills (returning senior) with another group of younger and talended players (Peebles, Trumpoldt, Reece (pronounced Reese), and Begansky) getting good playing time as well. The depth of Tabb's bench is also a strong point with host of ulility players capable of resting any of the starters and making an impact. So far the ball movement has been good (not consistant yet), shots on goal solid (averaging over 10 a game), and as usual, a wall for a defense. As the season plays out, Tabb can only get stronger which is bad news for the rest of the district.

i think tabb will be very tough competition this year, but i think the district will be between jamestown and grafton this year. both teams filled with talented players on good club teams. jamestown with almost all va legacy players, and grafton with alot of rush players, and 3 players from legacy, and wicher from the strikers. they both sound like very talented teams, and i wish the best of luck to both this year!!
p.s- jamestown plays grafton this Friday @ Jamestowns home field at 7:00.(if i am correct on the time)

Good points from both Soccerparent2 and Bayrivers. Both the Legacy and RUSH keep feeding the high school teams which always means a spirited game. I continue to see the coaches from both clubs at the HS games and even an occassional practice. Should be an excellent and entertaining season.
