GHS 4 WHS 2; dude Warwick is a good team until they play Gloucester. GHS has the edge. It's going to be a good game because Warwick knows this is their last chance to edge the DUKES.

That is a good question... but if Hampton can get four hits off Coates anyone can. She is not invincible like the Daily Press or coaches make her out to be. This will be a big challenge but as long as Byrd is on and throwing hard, Atkins is strong behind the plate and King is consistent at bat like she usually is Gloucester won’t be in the same ball park as Warwick point blank! Warwick has the best all around defense and offense this season than they’ve ever had. As long as they change the second basemen, that’s nothing but an error waiting to happen. They just need to get the job done! Like I said, King get that get that bat rolling on Coates, Byrd dominate on the mound, and Atkins be a wall behind the plate and all will be well for Warwick. I would love to see Warwick succeed in defeating Gloucester. So then everyone can stop making them out to be better than they really are.

Agreed, that WHS is ready for this match. They have nothing to loose and everything to gain with this game.

Warwick 3 Gloucester 2

Nothing to Loose:

If Warwick looses, they've lost nothing, cause they were picked for #2.
If they loose they still have a chance at the District title because they'll see Gloucester again. Everything to Gain:

They will have finally got what they waited so long for. Their 2nd victory over Gloucester.
Warwick will be in the driver's seat and Gloucester on the hot seat.
The winner will be 4-0;having played the top picks in the district. Warwick has the experience, the talent & Desire. It's now or never for this group of hungry seniors.

I think this will be a good game. As far as Warwick having the defense and offense this year, I don't know because they have had mostly the same players for the last 4 years and they have choked against Gloucester. I would love to see Atkins and her crew pull the win out! I think Gloucester will edge them 2-1.
Good Luck to all!

GHS 5, WHS 1 maybe. Warwick may not score. Their offence is not as potent as people think it is.

I don't think WHS choked at all against GHS. Gloucester simply was able to hit Warwick's pitching and scored bunches of runs. While GHS lost two seniors, their offensive lineup remains relatively unchanged. This year, as always, pitching will be the determining factor. If WHS can put runners on against Coates, they will score some runs. Whether it will be enough, we'll see on Friday. If GHS hits Byrd like they did in game 2 last year, the results may be the same (as last year).

Statistically, these teams should be evenly matched. Both pitchers are more than capable of shutting down the other side. Both offenses have great hitters and speed. But what happened last year won't affect the outcome of this game. We'll just have to let them play and see who ends up with the most runs at the end of the game!

If Byrd hit Coates like she did in game 1 (a single & 2 HRs) last year, the results may be different than last year.... Some people:p are really funny. "Mike B".... sure... Ha ha ha

If WHS has a better defensive game, as much as I hate to say this, Warwick may have the advantage. Warwick has not been defensively supportive of either pitcher. Last year, the third game was bad, the second was worse and the fisrt game was the worst of all. I couldn't believe the team that played GHS was the same team that beat Bethel the night before and played as well as they did in VA Beach Regional Tounament. I've watched this GHS and WHS match up for years. I hate for it to end. These young ladies were fun to watch. I watched Byrd have WHS only-ever win against GHS. Coates pitch a perfect game agaist WHS. Atkins loose a pitching duel 1-0. The big question is: Which WHS team will show up to play?

Hey, where was Warwick's right fielder in the Bethel game? Is she hurt? They are certainly going to need her in this game. I heard the switch at 2nd base was a good move. I heard the replacement can hit too. The coaches are really trying to turn this in a team Warwick will never forget. :clap2:

Is the 2nd baseman different than the one that played against KHS. She was good.

The right fielder went to a volletball tournament so I am told. The 2nd base spot is still up in the air for sure. Big questions for the coach. Commitment or Talent?
