Can some one list the names of the seniors from the BRD and the PD that are currently signed and or verbally committed to play softball for their prospective colleges. And if you know what positions they were recruited for.It doesn`t have to be just softball. There are several softball players that play different sports and may have been recruited for another sport other than softball.

Correct me if I`m wrong. These are the ones that I know.
Stephanie Coates Gloucester University of Virginia
Katie Alexander Kecoughtan Lees McRae College
Travonna Byrd Warwick Hampton University
Sarah Atkins Warwick Lenoir Rhyne College soon to be Lenoir Rhyne University
Virginia King Warwick Virginia Tech
Ellie Staples Menchville Radford (field Hockey)
I `m pretty sure Jamie Powell and Tabby Whatley are two more but I`m not sure of the school in Florida.Anyone else?
Who are Jamie Powell and Tabby Whatley? I know all the girls named above, but am not familiar with either of them. What PD team do they currently play for and what positions? Also, is Ellie Staples playing softball or field hockey for Radford?

Tabby Whatley plays for Menchville, Center field...used to play Third and Left Field. Pretty much can play anywhere you put her. man position this year is Center Field. She is going to a school in Florida to play Softball. Ellie Staples is going to Radford to play field hockey. and the name jamie Powell sounds familiar, not sure which school she plays at, I am thinking either Bethel or Kecoughtan.

Aren't community colleges just 2 year colleges? What happens after 2 years? Do you have to start from square one again and look for another college to play for.

Yes, these are junior colleges and the hope is that you get into somewhere else before the 2 years is up. Hopefully, a school that has your major which is very important.

My name is Tabatha Whatley aka TABBY ;) This is for all you out there who are wondering whats up with my softball/college career (as I've been reading).
SOFTBALL COMMITMENT
Tabitha Whatley, who played third base and left field for Menchville last season as a junior, has committed to attend North Florida Community College in Madison, Fla.
Whatley hit .362 with two triples and had a .913 fielding percentage last season with the Monarchs. She also played Select Softball with the Back River Surge.
“Tabby is the type of player when asked to do something, there is no question it will get done,” former Menchville coach Lisa Molineaux said. “She’s well disciplined, extremely determined, and an overall great team player. I firmly believe Tabby will play an integral part in their program.”
Whatley’s mother, Tonya, said her daughter is receiving a full scholarship
North Florida is coached by Jeff Dabney, a former assistant at the University of Florida.

As for my major: I would like to pursue accounting. I had a decision to make between 3 colleges for softball they were George Mason University, Lynchburg and North Florida. I went to visit these schools and a few more (cuz my parents made me LOL) after much thought I chose NFla. When I visited NFla in Nov. i REALLY liked the coach (Jeff Dabney) and I meet a couple of the girls from the team one from Canada and another from Georgia. I had a good time and felt comfortable there:). As far as it being a "two" year school.... I do plan on receiving a bachelor degree in accounting so I will be tranfering to a "4" year school to complete my degree. Hopefully on another softball scholarship..... Coach Dabney will be a great reference!!!:D I'm really exicted to play for North Florida!!!! and to get my required courses out of the way so I'll be prepared to study toward my major. I plan to play softball for as long as I can and pray and believe GOD for my furture:) because with his help I will obtain success!!

I wasn't trying to find out about you personally. I was just curious how the 2 year college thing works in general. I know that colleges around here come here to recruit players that they want to play for them such as UVA did for Coates, VA Tech for King, and the colleges Byrd and Atkins are going to. I didn't know if Junior Colleges went out and recruited players like these other schools or if you have to go out on your own and find a school to play for. But good luck with everything!

I can't speak for the players you mentioned above..... as for myself I got recruited during the "Rising Stars" tournament in Fort Lauderdale, Fla last Oct.,. All I know right now is I have to complete at least one year with Nfla because I signed with them. If I get recruited by another school it will be my decision to transfer for the following year or stay on and finish out my last year with Nfla. I'm not planning on transfering to another school though. Nfla is in the panhandle conference with alot of great teams one being Chipola who are the NJCAA state(fla) & national champions.... not to mention my new coach Jeff Dabney:D whom I can't wait to play for!!!! and hopefully North Florida will be the new champions:)
So to answer your question.... the coach did not see me play in Virginia however, he did come to my school (MHS) in Dec. for a meeting/signing. I hope thats helps
