Jamestown ranks fourth and Grafton is eighth in the Virginia High School League’s Wachovia Cup standings following the winter sports season.
The Wachovia Cup goes to the school in each group with the best overall athletic program. Points are awarded for teams’ finishes in various state tournaments.
Jamestown trails Blacksburg, Western Albemarle and Brentsville District in Group AA. Lafayette is 11th, Poquoson 16th and Tabb 19th.
In Group A, Lancaster is first and King William second. Bethel, in 16th place, is the top Peninsula District school. Cox of Virginia Beach is the leader.
