Middlesex Lady Chargers are now 6-0 marching into the Tidewater District Schedule. This team is awesome and jumps on opponets with 5-6 run innings followed by tough D.

Said it before...they should be watched!

Middlesex is a 1A school in the Tidewater District along with WesT Point, King William, Mathews and King and Queen. Middlesex has quality wins over 2A schools such as Rappahannoch and Lancaster (twice). Their record today is (6-0) (1-0). The Dailly Press only seems to cover them if they win a District Tournament game and then it's 2-3 sentences.

No coverage from what I can tell from Richmond unless we play a Richmond County Team. We are covered by the local (weekly) paper Southside Sentinel.

We are 10 miles from Gloucester (which gets all kinds of coverage from D.P.)

We are small but with good players. When I have inquired before about the lack of press we get the excuse that no info is available blah blah.

I have whiffle ball team in the neighborhood that is undefeated when is the daily press coming?I am sure they are a great team ,give it time they will get some coverage at some point .When it is time they will come but you might have to keep them informed of your teams progress Gloucester is in the PD with Newport News schools and Hampton schools of course they will get coverage that is where alot of the papers circulation is .

What grade is the your pitcher (Holmes) in and does she have any college offers?

How did Middlesex do against King & Queen and King William one of those teams has a pretty good freshman pitcher Cookie Mehl on it. Just curious how they did against that kid.

Bottom line is New Kent gets more coverage from the Times Dispatch than DP. Gloucester gets more from DP than Newport News teams. Not that neigher should be less just that overall there should be more PERIOD. For coverage of girls sports and this particular instance SOFTBALL.
