Menchville vs. Gloucester

With the surprises we have seen so far in the PD this year, I wouldn't count MHS out just yet. As always with these two teams it should be a good game. Every time these two teams meet the games are usually one by 1 or 2 runs, never by as many as 8. Guess we will see tonight! Good luck to both teams.

I have seen them play and I do not understand the fascination with Mechville. Yes they did beat Warwick 7-6, but they lost to KHS 9-0 and GHS 8-0. To me it looks like they had one good game. How can people say that they are the third best team when the supposed fifth place team beat them so easily. They also only beat bethel, sixth place, by one run. I guess mondays game will be their chance to show what they are made of.

EXACTLY!!! That's what I've been saying all along. Dude, One quirk don't make Menchville a top team. How do you count Kecoughtan out for MHS? :confused:

all teams have bad games every now and then..look whats happened to Warwick this year. No one has ever said Menchville was the best, only that they are a good team and can compete with any team in the PD. Everyone loves to see Menchville lose so they can rip them apart. They played a good game against Warwick with everyone hitting well and keeping their heads in the game. Why not give them a little credit. They aren't as bad as you make them out to be!

Why do Menchville fans think that everyone likes to see menchville lose? Menchville always puts together a good team, but when was the last time they dominated the district? Many years ago KHS and BHS dominated the district and recently GHS has been that team always at the top. Those are the teams everyone wanted to lose not MHS.

Menchville always gets critized. If they win, its because the other team beat themselves, or some other excuse. I rarely see anyone other than MHS fans get on here and say how well they played. They played a good game against Warwick, but were completely ripped apart on these forums the day after. If any team deserved to win that game it was MHS. They made some errors just like WHS but never let that get them down and played hard until the very end. According to some, that game was a fluke, a quirk and someone even said it was luck. You don't win a ballgame on luck. I will be the first to say that Menchville played terrible last night. They gave up a alot of unearned runs. Gloucester came out to win and did just that. They played a good game and Menchville just fell apart. I am certainly not going to get on here and make excuses for them.

Everytime MHS win a game their fans go crazy over it. Everyone knows that Menchville is a team you don't take lightly and that's what Warwick did so your right MHS deserved to win that game. Just because they beat WaHS don't mean they're a top contender. They are still a 5-6 place team. They lost 9-0 to Kecoughtan and 8-0 to GHS and WaHS beat both of those teams. They haven't played Woodside yet. Yes, MHS went to Regionals in 2006, but the game was a blow out. On most days, MHS play GHS and WaHS better than anyone because they are a good program, but even good programs go thru rebuilding years and I think this is their rebuilding year. They are certainly capable of upsetting the big teams, but this is not their year. Don't feel like it's only MHS cause WaHS, WoHS, KHS and GHS get flack too. People these days are trying to analyzing WaHS whole program.
