Stephanie Coates pitched her second no-hitter in two days, propelling Gloucester to an 8-0 victory at Menchville that broke a second-place tie in the Peninsula District. She struck out 12 and walked four, but the Monarchs (7-2, 5-2) didn't make a major threat.
Brenna Thomas was a catalyst, going 2-for-5 with three runs and stealing three bases for Gloucester (7-1, 6-1). Leta Bressin was 3-for-4, drove in three runs and scored two, and Karli Robb had a pair of hits.
Coates, bound for the University of Virginia's team, pitched a five-inning perfect game Wednesday in a 33-0 rout at Denbigh.
