Hampton Christian's 18th consecutive victory was one of its most difficult.
Justin Woods drew a two-out walk on 3-2 pitch with the bases loaded in the 10th inning, giving the Warriors (19-1, 8-1) a 4-3 home triumph over Metro Conference rival Isle of Wight Academy. IWA led 3-0 before Jake Cave's two-run homer in the sixth inning, and Austin Bennett tied the score by driving home a run in the seventh.
Cave had three hits and struck out nine during his six-inning starting pitching stint. Winner K.C. Judkins struck out five in four innings.
Jeremy Davenport drove in two runs and Rusty Brake homered for the Chargers (6-5), who forced Hampton Christian to strand 11 runners in the first five innings.
Zack Warnick took the loss, his first decision of the season.
