Alot of people believe that WOodside wont do so well this season but they do have alot of skilled returning players. I wouldnt say they wont have a good season.

Denbigh will a pretty good team this year

woodside will be pretty good i see a top 5 finish they lose a lot of linemen but there was plenty of depth they also return a bunch of skill on the offensive side of the ball 6-4 maybe 7-3

however i do have a feeling that this season will be interesting and dont think anyone should count out the underdogs... or look for 1 dominant team this year

they will have the largest offensive line in the district (two over 300 and all over 250) and have arguably two of the better offensive threats in ray harris and josh lovell. If they can convince harris to play qb or find someone to throw him the ball the team can score some points finally. Defensively they still have the size on the d-line but will lack the speed out back as always.

Otherwise, wouldnt be surprised to see denbigh cmoe back with a .500 or better seasno this year.

Eckstein and jones are legitimate big linemen, Brennan and walker must have put on at least 25 pounds to be in those weight areas which is possible. Seems pretty comparable, however. Four out of the five for gloucester were full time starters last year too.

yea gloucester could surprise with harris and lovell and the big o-line they got a transfer from new jersey who is about 6'4 280. and the defense wasnt a pushover most of the season last year disregard bethel and denbigh. they are returning 8 starters on defense. top would be smith-safety, harris and larrimore-linebacker, mains lovell, and lopez on the d-line

we shouldnt have to exclude the hampton schools but will a hampton school be a surprise team NO! it will not surprise me if phoebus wins the district and it wont surprise me if hampton finishes top 3 it wont surprise me if Kecoughtan is in the bottom 2 again this year, i think yall were excluded because you would get on here with everyone knowing phoebus's team is stacked this year and still say oh phoebus brings more talent than ever they will surprise people NO! no they wont because everyone already knows how they will do this season

Well I am also pulling for Heritage but i wouldn't call them a surprise... in my book it's already expected of them to compete with anybody and everybody. So look at them to be fighting at top spot this year! Was it under the radar to some up here or somerthing??? Because last year they were also fighting at the top finishing 7-3 and excluding the loss in the playoffs but their 3 losses came at the hands of the Hampton schools. But now they have a taste of playoffs and they what it takes to get there and how to get beyond their past accomplishments!

That's funny... Picking Heritage to fall off when no student in Woodside's building has EVER beaten them in a football game. If Heritage is 5-5, you can bet the house that one of those victories will be against Woodside.

I always think its hard to predict high school football and how teams will fare other than the obvious i.e. Hampton and Phoebus. You don't know who is transferring from where and who is moving on or up from JV and coaches changing, etc. Who would have ever thought Bethel would have been as good as they were last year. They were predicted to be at the bottom of the district.Who knows, I'm just hoping for a good and interesting year.

the ony thing that was doubted was Coach Brehon. A stacked team and he got his but handed to him in the state game. They were expected to win that game and got blown out.

The football over achieved for sure and alot is expectant of them this year.

Baseball has traditionally been good for Bethel.

I play for Gloucester High School I know what we got going on over here and it would be a dissapointment to go under .500, we have a lot of talent and plenty of diamonds in the rough. We work just as hard as any team in the PD and we just get the short end of the stick but were coming for ours this year so watch out PD GLOUCESTER is here!!!!!

Football team was never doubted because they were not suppose to be that good so they really overachieved....by the way I love how you said deep into the regionals like they had more than 1 win in the playoffs :lol:

But I'm not doubting Bethel this year because I know they have a core of that team from last year BUUUUT they lost A LOT matter fact TOO MUCH to go 10-2 again this year.
