Why does it seem like football receives wayyyy more coverage than any other sport, especially for the previews. I mean man they went allll out. Im just curious why dont other sports, mainly basketball and baseball, receive as much coverage as football? Wouldnt you like to see previews like the football one for basketball and baseball too? I know I would.

there are previews for those sports, just not as in depth.
football is the paramount high school sport. if you have any doubt as to why the game gets so much coverage in the paper come any fri night game and see 2000 people there.
Gloucester baseball teams generally are very competitive and have maybe 100 people at their games. football always stinks, and yet 2000 stop by to cheer and mingle

football is by far the most popular high school sport thats why it gets more coverage because more people are interested in football and thats what the press is about its what the people wanna see and hear there are FAR FAR more football fans than baseball or basketball

I agree that football is the most popular sport and that fans enjoy football the most, but i dont think its fair for football to get all this coverage while basketball and baseball dont. Since they did a running back feature this year, for basketball they could do a point guard theme or baseball a picther theme. I just feel like basketball and baseball-compared to football-barely receive any coverage. Especially the previews, they are always skimp for basketball and baseball, but for football they have another section of the newspaper for it!

I can understand how some of the players that play other sports might be a bit upset with the coverage that football gets in this area, however it's what Hampton Roads is known for. I mean, look at the threads all year long, football might be the only sport that gets constant hype year around. I know that you might not want to hear it, but football is where it's at in the Hampton Roads area.
