In March the Peninsula introduced a new wrestling club called "Raider Nation." The idea was to bring back the Peninsula Powerhouse Wrestling, as it was in the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's, starting with our Pee Wees all the way though to our High School Wrestlers.

We met with overwhelming success!! We had 81 kids and every wrestler medaled in several tournaments!! The best thing was, we won and had fun doing it!! It is an exciting time in Peninsula Wrestling and we are rebuilding old traditions at Raider Nation.... please come be a part of it!!!

The Raider Nation Wrestling Club is holding their initial sign-ups Today through Friday (Sep 12) at Warwick High School from 6pm-8pm. Practices will be held in the Warwick Wrestling Room on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm for both divisions. Practice Starts on 16 September. We will be hosting our first tournament, "The Raider Nation Pre-Season Tournament," on September 28th at Phoebus High School. Don't miss out!!!

We are looking for kids ages 4-18 and anyone who has wrestling experience that might want to help coach. If you miss the initial sign-ups, there will be an open sign-up all season long. However, as a start-up club last year, we had 81 kids sign-up for Raider Nation. This year we will limit the club membership to the first 100 kids. So, please sign-up early!

The Head Coach for the High School and Middle School divisions is USA Wrestling Silver Level Certified Coach Tony White. The Head Coach for the Pee Wees is renowned National Wrestling Coach Steve Pittman. There will be a slew of other very talented coaches in the room as well. All wrestlers and coaches are invited to attend and be a part of this exciting experience.

The club will accept the first 50 kids to sign up in each division.

We look forward to seeing any and all who want to improve their wrestling skills and become a competitive force to be reckoned with. I have received an overwhelming amount of interest from wrestlers all over the Tidewater area that are very excited about this new opportunity. The wrestling levels range from Current State Champions to wrestlers who have just started this Year!! We are excited to have them all. Please remember, the first 50 kids in each division are all we will be able to handle. So please don't procrastinate.

If you are interested in becoming a supporter of Raider Nation Wrestling through involvement or sponsorship, or you just have questions, please do not hesitate to call Coach Anthony White at Cell# 757 592 2076, anthony.white22@us.army.mil (anthony.white22@us.army.mil).
