Tabb softball surging

Though the Bay Rivers District softball standings showed Tabb in fifth place entering Wednesday’s games, the Tigers have worked hard just to get to that position.
After starting the season 0-3 in the district, Tabb (7-5 overall, 7-5 district) came into Wednesday’s game at district-leading Poquoson having won seven of its last nine games. A combination of hot hitting and a lull in the schedule have contributed to Tabb’s success.
Third baseman Amanda Julian was the most consistent hitter during Tabb’s run, which included five wins against teams that are in the bottom half of the district standings.
Julian had four multi-hit efforts during the nine-game stretch, including a 2 for 4 outing April 10 that featured a three-run home run and five RBI in a 6-3 win against Bruton. She also went 3 for 4 on April 19 with two doubles and two RBI in a 5-2 win against Lafayette.
