These results from states are kind of ironic. Last year, Hannah beat Kristina at districts, then lost to her at regionals and states. This year, Hannah loses the individual title at districts (but helps Gloucester to win a team championship), then beats Kristina at regionals and states. Looks like Woodard peaked a bit early. This was a great season for Hannah, especially when you consider that her best distance seems to be the 500 or the 1000 indoor.

I would like to congratulate Varnell on her all-state achievement! She had a great season and and represented the Penninsula District well. However, while the results are ironic, it may interest you to know that Woodard did not peak too soon, she ran injured the last two races of the season due to just plain bad luck.
