Eighth-grader Adrienne Motley scored 20 of her 33 points in the second half to spark Hampton Roads Academy (8-1) to a 50-45 non-district triumph at Grafton. Jessica Ponce scored 16 and Jasmine Williams-Hayes 11 for the Clippers.
"That's my fifth year here at Grafton," Clippers coach Chris Harper said. "She probably ranks up in the top two or three girls I've seen play, and she's just an eighth-grader.
"We played man-to-man, zone -- we played everything. She probably had seven or eight assists, also. She was involved in every way, shape or form."
Motley had 10 rebounds and shot 11 of 15 from the foul line.
