Helped by Corey Cooper’s big night and a huge second-half push, Hampton Roads Academy got past visiting Greenbrier Christian 93-72 in the TCIS opener for both teams.
Corey Cooper led all scorers with a career-high 37 points. He also grabbed 11 rebounds for the Navigators, who pulled away after a 39-37 halftime deficit.
Ted Wang had 21 points and Keith Hornsby added 20 for HRA (9-5, 1-0).
B.J. Adkins led Greenbrier Christian with 25 points.
