Changes to Region I sectional lineup

This is a little better, but you've still got the two best teams THIS YEAR in the same sectional. Still, it will all wash out in the regional, and the best wrestlers, if they are the best, will be on opposite sides of the brackets with a chance to meet in the finals. Can't wait for sectionals at King George, and there are a few wrestlers in maroon and gold who didn't wrestle against New Kent that are anxiously awaiting the sectionals as well.

Great potential match-up is Silva vs. Smith at 140. Really wish Chancellor would have stayed in the other sectional just for this. See ya at the matches.

I was not going to comment on this, But From a close friend that sits on the board for Region 1 had a lot of heat from 2 teams. York,Smithfield, There biggest thing was that might only get 1 kid into regiionals. So the Board broke down. SO now you got the top 5 teams in Region 1 in one Place. They are New Kent , Poquoson,Chancellor,King George, And Courtland. Smithfield and york if they went to this sectionals they would finish behind courtland. This is why they breakdown. Will the come out and say this to the press? No

Man the wrestling has not even started yet and an excuse has already been pre-positioned? What gives, you are not taking cues from the new administration are you? a big build up that PHS is the team to beat and then when the playing field gets shifted: a statement of what the press will or will not report comes out. PHS will still finish strong regardless of the opponents

Regardless of the sectionals and who's where, again, the cream will rise to the top. There are plenty of good wrestlers and teams in this region, not just Poquoson and New Kent. Don't see the logic in the original line-up or the change, but again, the cream will rise on Feb 14. My only wish is for everyone to be healthy, no injuries or illness, but given the bacterial breeding ground in the schools, not likely.

Have to agree with this one. Lots of good wrestlers in the region. Dont know that I would use the word cream to describe some of the wrestlers that will win. I have been very disappointed in some of the sportsmanship that the wrestlers and the fans have shown. All of these young men/women have worked hard to get to this point and I wish them all good luck . May the all be an example of good sportsmanship to each other. And may the fans behave.
