Warwick won 61-45 at Heritage in a game in which Hurricanes standout Dimitri Batten was taken to a hospital after suffering an ankle injury early in the third quarter. Harkim Brown scored 16 and Eugene Whitaker 10 for the Hurricanes (6-15, 4-13), who remained a game behind Menchville for the eighth and final Peninsula District tournament berth. In order to force a one-game playoff between Heritage and Menchville, Heritage must beat Gloucester and Menchville must lose to Woodside on Thursday.

This is devastating if the initial report is accurate. I was predicting a play-in game between Menchville/Heritage on Friday, as well as looking forward to attending. However, if Batten's injury is as significant as it appears, there is no way he will be ready to go by Friday, Heritage doesn't have a chance. I guess I'll just go to the movies with the misses.
