High school rugby kicks off it's inaugural season tonight at Dozier Middle School with Kecoughtan vs. Warwick at 5:30 PM
and Sat.10:00 AM with Menchville taking on Bethel .
Come watch and if you like what you see, join a team! It's never too late and the season is just beginning.

is there anyway i could play?

This is club rugby, I believe. Not official sports of the schools, so my guess is that yes, you could play.

Yes,
if your school (private or public) doesn't have a team ,then you can play for the school nearest you .
The 4 schools are Bethel, Kecoughtan, Warwick and Menchville.
There is all the info you need on "newportnewsrugby.com"

Results of this weekend's rugby matches:
Friday night in the A match Kecoughtan beat Warwick 20-7 and also won the B match5-0 with the "Man of the Match" for the winners being LaQuan "Q" Sessoms.
On Saturday Bethel won the A match 17-5 with Menchville winning the B match 5-0 . "Man of the Match" for Bethel was Corey Lee and for Menchville- Marco "The Lock"
Congrats to all teams, coaches, hundreds of supporters and parents who helped to make this such successful kick off for what we hope to be an established rugby presence on the Peninsula!

Next week's games will pit Menchville against Warwick at 5:30 pm on Fri nite at Dozier Middle School and Sat 10:00 AM with Kecoughtan facing Bethel also at Dozier.

Rugby is a great sport and im glad it has been accessed to high school students!
i have been to all the games and i think that kec. came to play against Warwick and gave them a good fight i just think warwick would have won the game if it were not for the ref.
i think top teams are Bethel and Warwick, Warwick is 0-2 but its something about the way the play if they could touch up a few things like picking up the ball then i think they could be the top contenders. I feel bethel just brings it to every game, these to teams will have a good rugby game. but with 4 of warwicks players hurt. who knows what will happen.!
