I have voiced by opinions in earlier threads about Tech's overly simple offense. Their dominant defense allows them to play keep away on offense and win games. This is great for VT fans and donors because they win conference titles and bowls. HOWEVER, they do NOT have a good history of producing NFL offensive skill players, QBs in particular.

I am a big fan of all PD players, so I want Tyrod to have much success. I'm stating this because I know how some bloggers get on HR Varsity. What I'm saying is, I don't think that VT, under their current offensive coordinator, is going to do a good job of getting him ready. I really don't think that VT is a good choice for offensive skill players trying to go pro.

Before I pose my question, I want to make the following things clear...

I respect the program that VT has built, I just don't like the offense.
I already know that most people don't go pro. I'm speaking on the offensive system, not Tyrod in particular.
I think that for national-level recruits, the NFL aspect is one that has to be considered when choosing a college. Now, with all that being said, what do you think Tyrod's success level will be for the next two seasons? And, considering that he's a Hokie QB, what are his chances to succeed at QB in the NFL?

KOAK does not know a whole lot about football but since KOAK is spending a few minutes commenting on the football thread he would throw in his 2 cents worth regarding VT. KOAK is a MHS follower and has a joke for everyone - What does Stinespring and Phil Forbes have in common? Answer - They both have been around forever and they are stinking it up. This being said, they need to be fired because they are not getting the job done. VT's offense is horrible and folks did not give Tyrod good advice about his college/university selection. Look at the VT quarterbacks of the past few years - Druckenmiller, Randall, Vick, Little Vick. None of these quarterbacks have made it in the NFL as a true quarterback. Vick is the closest but he is by no means a true legitimate quarterback. A top notch quarterback prospect that has done his homework would be crazy to sign with Tech and Stinespring. Beamer needs to show a little fortitude, fire this guy, and implement a pro-style offense that really develops players for the next level. Hampton sends Tyrod to VT and now the Tron Martinez incident. What kind of guidance is being provided over at Hampton? They need to get their act together but at least they are still winning. As a MHS follower, what's better - MHS football losing every game or Hampton winning at this cost? KOAK is not sure.

Tyrod Taylor will not to be an NFL QB...plain and simple. If he does the same as he did last year at Tech he'll be better off asking them to move him to WR as a senior so he can get a jump start on learning the position for the NFL. Oh my he chose the wrong school to go to and play QB because he's basically a running back with the option to throw.

Im glad to see people agree with what i think... I had been on the hokie main board on another site while ppl where upset about Phillip Sims commiting to Alabama and I simply said, the two positions for tech that are toughest to recruit elite talent are QB and WR as evident by maybe two tds all year from the wr position... Tyrod is an excellent ath, and will be in the same position Pat White is in now...

to put it simple, the offensive coordinator *****!!!!!!!!!!! honestly he has NO imagination or anything. It ***** because I'm a VT fan. Tech needs to can that guy. Heck the HIGH SCHOOLS here on the PD do WAY better in that field than the current offensive production Tech has put out. It's NOT the players fault, it's the narrow minded coaches...
