From what I gather from Menchville girls tennis coach Marvin Hedgepeth, who was one of the boys and girls tennis tournament directors last year, it wouldn't surprise me if the VHSL AAA spring jubilee stayed in our area through 2009. He says the VHSL folks love the facilities, the turnout has been good, and business has increased for hotels and restaurants.
And, as we should know around here, Todd Stadium is an excellent track, CNU has good facilities, and so does the Stoney Run softball fields. And Huntington Park, with 20 courts in good condition, is fabulous for tennis. (OK, so we players complain a little bit about the wind ... but that's under Mother Nature's control, not ours.)
